Build Gilbert Tough Pt2

We loaded up in the cars and headed to Park City.
I love this picture.  They love Grandpa!!!
Uncle Dustin forgave Bailey for hitting him in the face with a pillow, and he gave her a ride.  What a nice uncle you are Dust!
While we were standing in line getting tickets, there was a street performer.  Bailey was dancing along to her folk songs.
Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Lori were so nice to take the kids on the little rides while the rest of us went on the big Alpine Coaster.  We had tickets for the slide too, but it started raining on us.
The coaster was really fun.  After, we all did a little goofy golfing...

 Nice form Mark!

 Brian, you are a goof-ball!
 But we still love ya!
This picture isn't of anything in particular, but I had to document that was there too...bad posture and all.

Thanks mom and dad for the cabin.  We had a really good time catching up with everyone!

Built Gilbert Tough

My parents rented a cabin in Heber, UT for our first family reunion on my side of the family.
We were only able to stay 3 days and 2 nights, but it was heaven.  I am so blessed to have such a great family.
My dad...I am such a daddy's girl.  I remember having a rough day at school, I would walk out to the shop, and my dad would always listen to all the stupid things that a pre-teen has to worry and complain about.  He never stopped being a good listener.  Thanks dad, for always being there for me.
Kasidee (and all the rest of the kiddos) were in heaven.  The deck wrapped around the cabin, and it was the perfect race track...
"I have died and gone to heaven."
And of course, it is not a family gathering unless a couple wrestling matches occur.  Brian has to still try and prove that he can take on anyone and everyone...I think Dustin took him though.  Sorry Bri.
 Cutie girl.
We had nightly thoughts from Grandpa, and then family prayer.
Lots of cards...Hand and Foot, Rook, Mexican Train Domino's (I realize that this isn't a card game, but I had to include it in the list).

Uncle Dustin torturing poor innocent Bailey.
 Don't worry,
 she got...
EVEN!!!

Elder Dakota

We made a quick stop in Highland, UT so we could go through the temple with my cousin Cody.  He is off to serve a mission in Mexico...almost.
He still had a few weeks home before the MTC, but it becomes really real when you go through the temple, 2 years is a long time to be gone.
We had a celebration dinner at Olive Garden after.  Thanks Uncle Rob.
Here are some of my family on my mom's side.  I don't get to see them often enough!  My cute Grandma Taylor (my mom's mom), whenever you ask her how she is doing she always answers, "I'm as ornery as ever."  She raised 11 children in a single wide trailer while her husband drove truck to support them, she is the sweetest, least ornery person I know.  Grandma you are amazing!
My Aunt Karen is more like a sister to me, I can't believe her oldest is going on a mission...that means you are old Karen...he he he.
Two cute grandmas...can you tell they are sisters or what!?!

The last of our weeks in Logan.

I'm not sure when or where the tradition started, or if it is even a tradition really...but the men have taken the kids on a hike almost every time we have been together as a family.  The kids really had a good time.
The Cache Valley Cruise in.  I'm going to say, it has been better in past years.  The cars weren't as cool, and there weren't as many of them.  But who can resist a bright orange low rider?  Actually my favorite were the big jacked up Broncho's.
I thinks the kids' favorite part was the root beer.

The girlies had a slumber party.  Ice cream cones in your pj's...the best!
I can't remember the name of this place in North Logan, but it had a big indoor playground, an arcade, a bowling alley, and a rollerskating rink.  It brought back so many memories.  I wanted to put on a pair of skates so bad!!!
Parker, Maryn, and Gordon found another use for the skating rink...

The gang.

You can't know where you're going until you know where you came from.

We went to the Willard cemetery to see some of Grandad's ancestors.
George Welton Ward was the first Ward family member to join the church and come to America from England.
He is buried in Willard with his wife and children.
It was neat to show the kiddos all the head stones with "Ward" on them, and tell them a little bit about where they come from.
And of course you can't go to a cemetery without playing a little Bubblegum Bubblegum in a Dish!
Reilynn refused to move from in front the headstone where is says Ward.
Then we attempted again and Parker was squeezing Kasidee's hand too hard.
"Why do we have to have a stupid family picture anyway?!?"  "Just smile!"

 Reilynn, Lorelai, and Max.
 The dudes.
I hope that we can keep these relationships strong.  My cousins are my best friends, and I hope my kids can have those same friendships!
