Stay-Cation Day Six

 For the grand finale of spring break, we went to the beach.

 It was a little chilly, but the kids didn't seem to notice, they jumped right into the water and started digging in the sand.

 Kas just couldn't resist digging in the sand, the second she got out of the car.

 Two cute families came with us...it was fun to have fun friends there.

 We brought wood for a campfire.  And if you can see where my car is parked, and the stack of wood right behind Parker....my car still smells like smoke.  Not going to do that again!

 It was a little cold to strip this kiddo down and put him in a swimsuit, plus the jammies provided some protection from the sun.

He only ate the sand once, and learned his lesson...YUCK!

We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows...it doesn't get much better than a little sun, the waves in the background and gritty/sandy hot dogs! :)

Kasidee doesn't have any meat on her bones...she would run out in the water until she was blue, then come back by the fire and bundle up.  Her leg was shaking so hard she couldn't stop it, but she would warm up and do it all over again.

It is almost nicer when the water is cold because the kids are happy to play in the sand, and I don't worry about kids in the water.

Stay-Cation Day Three and Four

 So Day 3 was the "boring" day.  We went to the library.  The kids weren't super excited about it, but they knew we were bowling the next day, so they didn't complain.

 Obviously you aren't seeing any pictures of the library...I should have taken at least one, but as you can see...I'm a slacker!!!

 I did, however, take plenty of pictures of bowling to make up for it.  You're welcome.

 Sadly, all the pictures are with my cell phone, so they aren't the greatest.  But at least the memory is recorded in history.

 This is the first time we have ever taken our kids bowling.  They were so excited!

 Finding shoes that fit everyone took about 30 minutes...too big, too small, can't get them on, can't tie shoe laces..Luckily the people before us had kids, or were wimps, because our lane was stocked with light kids balls.

 One nice thing about having 6 kids (I guess I should say, one of the million nice things...) is that you can bowl only one game and it takes forever!!!  Everyone felt like we were bowling for a long time, and it was only one game.

Bowling was a hit.  The whole family had a blast!

Stay-Cation Day Two

Our outing today was to the theater to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman.  It was cute.  The kids all loved it.

 We went to Orange Leaf Monday night after FHE.  Do you notice the trend in all these pictures???

Stay-cation Day One

Our first excursion was to a strawberry farm. 

 I was shocked at how much fun the kids had.

 "These are best strawberries I've ever eaten!"

 "This is the coolest place in the whole world."

 "Can we come back every year mom?  Please!!!"

 We had fun going through the farmers market after collecting strawberries.

 We bought some yummy kettle corn.  

 Everyone ate so much popcorn and so many strawberries on the way home that they all had tummy-aches.

 Then we came home and made freezer jam.

 It was a surprising hit.  And now the kids are excited to eat PB&J with their new jam...not just Nutella!
