Proud to be a Texan

Today while we were running some errands, Parker saw an American flag and asked, "Mom, what kind of flag is that?" I replied, "an American flag." Parker paused for a second and said, "Oh, I thought it was a Texas flag." I told my dad, and he said we needed to hurry and move away from Texas before our kids are completely brainwashed.

Put the gun down!!!

Today I actually had to tell my 5 year old son to "put the gun down."

We were in the car driving home from the park and Addison started screaming hysterically. When I asked her what was wrong, she said that Parker was shooting her. He had his hands in the shape of a gun and was making the shooting noises while pointing at Addison. She was beside herself! Asking Parker to stop wasn't working, so I had to ask/tell him to holster his gun. Could he be more of a boy?!?!? And I don't think you could find anyone better for a 2 year old poster child than Addison. WOW!!!

This day I will marry my Friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, Love!

So my scanner didn't work very well, and our wedding pictures aren't digital...but you get the idea. WE WERE SO YOUNG!!! It is funny to look back and see how much we have grown in the last eight years. We have been through a lot together.
Beauty school, MBA, 10 moves, four children (including twins who were 4 months premature), and here we are in Texas. What I have learned in the last eight years, is that if we are together, we can go through anything.

Mark, thank you for breaking all the rules and asking me out. I love you, and I can't wait for the next 8 years!

Hoodies, and Cocoa, and Slippers oh my...

It was actually cold enough to wear sweatshirts and drink hot chocolate. I can't tell you how good it felt on Sunday morning to sit outside in my sweats, slippers and jacket and drink creamy hot chocolate. It actually felt like Fall and it was so nice!
Parker is the biggest cheese-ball lately. He calls everyone "silly-buckos." Kasidee has been learning how to read and write. Her favorite thing to do is to try and make words out of the fridge magnet letters..."kwem" (cream), "sndrwula" (cinderella). So cute! Speaking of "so cute," Addison likes to tell me that I am "so cute," or Bailey is "so cute" after we get ready for the day. She makes me smile all day long! And Bailey is laughing all the time now. It is so fun to see her getting bigger and more aware of the people and things around her.
Markley is his normal crazy self...shorts in the freezing cold. He would rather be cold than comfortable. You would never guess that he grew up in Arizona! We have been married for 8 years on Tuesday and I have enjoyed every minute, even the hard ones. I love you! Thanks for being my everything!

Saturday Fun...

Saturday was such a good day. We were so productive! We finished lots of projects that have been sitting.

Mark finished fixing the fence that has been down in our backyard since hurricane Ike (I didn't get a pictures, but he did a great job!)
I finished the craft I started on Friday. A group of friends and neighbors got together for some holiday painting fun. I want to do another something for Christmas, if anyone that lives close is interested.
This was a craft that my aunt gave me literally 4 years ago. All I had to do was paint it, and I haven't gotten it done until yesterday. We have hauled it through 2 moves unfinished, which if you know me, you know I am quick to throw away. I'm surprised I held onto it that long. But it is finally done, and I think it turned out cute.
We also got Parker's bed out of the garage and put together. I got a great deal at a yard sale, I love great deals!!! Parker was so excited for his loft bed with "a fort."

Fall Festivities

I saw this cute idea on another blog and thought it would be fun to try with my kids. Well, it didn't work out quite as cute as theirs, but they had fun collecting leaves, smashing them, and glue is always a hit...
Parker did a pumpkin...
Kasidee wanted to do a maple leaf...
Addison didn't want to have set guidelines, we called hers the wind...

The final results...

Bailey couldn't join in with the glue, but she had fun on our walk! And she thoroughly enjoyed her treat when we got back.
Fall is my favorite season. I have missed it the most, living in Arizona and now Texas.

Girlie-girl

I just got the knock-off version of this purse (but with lime green instead of red). It is the girliest purse I have had in a long time. It is fun to be a "girl" again.

Friends at last...

Kasidee and Addison have not been the best of friends so far. Parker and Kas have played together, so they didn't need to include Addison. We have been working on it, and finally it has been paying off.
I came upstairs and found this...

They had gotten out all of their animals and dolls and layed them on the blankets with them. They were laying down with their "friends" and having the best time together. I had to capture the moment just to remind myself that they do play together sometimes.

Halloween fun...

We started out our evening with the trunk-or-treat at the church. Kasidee learned the system really fast! She kept going around the circle of cars, and by the end of the 30 minutes we were there, had more candy than she could carry (literally).

Kasidee was a cute cowgirl. She kept saying "howdy ya'll" all night.

Parker was a mean looking pirate. "Walk the plank."

Addison was suppose to be a cute witch, but she decided the costume was "too scratchy." So we improvised, and she was a clown. The costume was about 5 sizes too big, but it turned out cute.

Bailey was a cute little piglet.

The trunk-or-treat...

Trick-or-treating with friends in our neighborhood after.
