"To express gratitude is gracious and honorable, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live with gratitude ever in our hearts is to touch heaven." ~Thomas S. Monson

These are the moments...
I love when they actually like each other every once and a while. Here they are all ready for the Primary program that we had last week. P and K sang in a small group with 3 other kids. They did such a good job! Addison didn't understand why she couldn't sing with them...she had practiced just as much as they had!

A little nookie?
We had FHE yesterday, and we were talking about prayer...which got us talking about all the things we are thankful for. It was Addison's turn to share what she was thankful for..."I'm thankful that mom could get nookie." Mark and I looked at each other and started busting up laughing. It took us a minute to figure out that she was saying, "mom could get Nikki (a girl who has babysat for us a couple times.)

Seriously, Seriously!?!?!?
I know everything is BIGGER in Texas, but are you kidding me?!?!? Addison has been stung by a bee twice now, and the bees are huge red scary looking things. This is her bee sting on her foot. The black and blue is not a bruise, it is just a shadow...

Poor Bailey is a little allergic to the mosquitoes here, she swells up and gets huge goose-eggs. Here she has two big lumps on her head, and below is the bite on her shoulder. So sad!!! The pictures definitely did not do them justice!
The weather is finally cooling off a little and we are still staying inside to hide from the bees, mosquitoes, and fire-ants. Good times.

Addison's 1st Day
Addison started preschool today. 9 of us moms got together and started Little Feet Preschool. I think it is going to be really good! Addison had to show off her new backpack.

Bailey had to have her picture taken too. She found the glue stick...great!

Trip to the ER
Yesterday, Addison climbed up on our bathroom counter. She was playing with my makeup, without my knowledge. I heard a scream and I ran in to find Addison sheet white and holding her head. I think she fell right on her head on the tile.
She calmed down sitting in my lap on the couch, but then she fell asleep. I kept waking her up, and about 40 minutes later she woke up throwing up. I called my dr. and my mom (who is a nurse) and felt that the best thing would be to take her in.
A great neighbor came over to watch the other kids, and then my great brother-in-law came and got them so Mark could come meet us at the hospital. It was a good thing that Mark came, because pregnant women can't go into a CT scan.
Everything came back fine. She just had a minor concussion. She got some anti-nausea medicine, and was much better.
The nurse who was helping us asked us how many kids we have. I told her we had 4, and she asked how I kept track of everyone..."Well, obviously not very well, we are sitting here in the ER!"

Starting over...AGAIN
Parker and Kasidee started school today. Kindergarten again. We knew when we started them last year that we would have them repeat, but I hope we made the right decision. I don't think Kasidee minded at all, but Parker wasn't so sure about all of his friends moving on, and he was staying behind. We might be paying for years of therapy.

Kasidee was very excited to wear her new clothes. Can you get any tinier?!?!? "Stretch" pants are baggy on the girl!
Bailey wanted her picture taken. She had to have a backpack to carry around this morning too.

Addison also posed for the camera. She is excited to start preschool next week! They are all growing up...just in time to have another baby around! (:

Chicken Equals Fast
We were driving in the car the other day and Parker wanted me to go faster. I told him I couldn't and Addison asked me very straight faced...
"Mom, do you need a chicken?"
"A chicken?" (thinking I didn't hear right)
"Ya, a chicken!"
"Do chickens make you go faster?"
"Well, ya mom."
So if anyone has a spare chicken, let me know. We could use one in our car apparently. (:

cowboy up

We went out to dinner at a Texas BBQ place last night. I took Kas, Addison, and Parker to the bathroom. I can't seem to let Parker grow up, and I told him to just come in with us to the girls' bathroom. He looked at the signs on the doors, "Ladies" and "Cowboys" and said, "No way mom, there are cowboys in here!" He was sadly mistaken, when he walked in to find a regular old bathroom behind the door.

A surprising good day...
I turned 28 yesturday. Birthdays as you get older just aren't that big of a deal. I still had to wake up and do dishes, clean up the house, and throw in a load of laundry. I wasn't expecting to have such a wonderful day.
I started out by getting a babysitter and getting my nails filled (thanks Christian). My neighbor brought over yummy brownies and a beautiful serving bowl (I am always borrowing hers), Mark came home early and brought my favorite P.F. Chang's chocolate cake with him (good job homie), he took the kids to the store and they all picked out very thoughtful gifts for me (Parker wanted to get me flowers, Kas got me an oil smelling thing, and Addison got me a basket to put my makeup in.), my sister-in-law was very thoughtful and gave me a cute skirt, and my good friend gave me a stationary set. Then Mark took us all out to dinner so I didn't have to cook. I also got several fun phone calls wishing me happy birthday. Thank you everyone for making it such a great day! 28 turned out to be a great birthday!

Hide and Go Seek
These are my mom's dirty clothes cupboards. They made perfect hide and go seek spots. Kind of smelly if you ask me.
Well that concludes our fun trip to WA. I don't think we could of had a better time. The weather was beautiful, we got to see so much family, and the kids had fun 24/7! Thank you mom and dad for making the visit so special and for creating so many fun memories that our kids will always remember. Thanks Cory and Lori for making the effort to come while we were there. Thanks Dustin for being the best brother and uncle in the world. And thanks Aunt Karen for driving 12 hours to come, we loved seeing you and your kids! Grandma Taylor, you are a trooper for braving the trip, we love you! Brian, you were very missed!

Flying High
Grandpa got out the kites on a windy day. Parker had lots of fun until the string got caught on one of the shingles on the roof, then he gave up and went and found the snap peas again. Mark ended up climbing on the roof to unhook the string. We needed a little bit more open space.
4th of July
Some of these picture turned out fuzzy. But luckily the pictures that Mark took of himself were crystal clear! (:
