Beach or Bust

We headed to the beach for Memorial Day. We wanted to beat the crowds, so we left home at 6:15am (we needed to stop at the grocery store before meeting friends @ 7). It was early!
There are spots where you can drive your car right onto the beach. I love how easy it makes unpacking and setting up camp! All you have to do is open your back door and let everything fall into the sand. (I really did this...I was talking to someone when I started to open the door, instead of the window. Everything came tumbling out. Oops.)

There were 9 families that came this time. It was fun! "The more the merrier" was definitely the case!

Umm, is that a shark in the distance?!?!? I didn't see that until I uploaded my pictures onto the computer...SCARY!! Maybe it was a nice playful cute dolphin!!! Right?!?!?

Kas and Molli had loads of fun in this inflatable snow sled. Why the Walkers have a snow sled in Texas, I do not know...but it was awesome for the beach!

Kas is a good friend. She gave Molli a turn too. Her mom taught her right!

Addison was our little fish this trip. We couldn't drag her out of the water...even for food or Gatorade (her favorite). I didn't get a 2nd coat of sunblock on her, and she got a little pink. I learned my lesson...drag out of water for more sunblock!!!

Reilynn was a trooper! She didn't love the hot sun, but she lasted for 6 straight hours on the beach. She took a little cat nap in the back of the Expedition. I laid the seats down and made a soft little bed. The ocean breeze kept her from roasting. She did pretty good for only being 5 months old!

Bailey loved the water too. She would jump in the waves, drink in more ocean than is humanly possible, jump up, spit out as much as she could, then jump back into another wave. She also loved all the special beach treats that we don't normally have at home.
I think she had a lunch of just Little Debbie Nutty Bars.We don't have white sandy beaches here, we kind of have mud. But the kids don't mind. They dug pits, rolled in it, threw it, ate it (Yes, one of the little girls kept eating it, much to the dismay of her mom.) and had a blast just being kids.

Kasidee and Parker are getting old enough to try and actually ride the waves. These little floatation devices were a hit.

Who's the man?

Zoe had a good time too. She isn't too fond of the water, but she loved eating all the kids hand-outs and running around.

The kids had fun throwing things into the waves and having the ocean bring it back to them. It's the little things in life!
Good friends, good food, good times!!!!

That is a Dolphin, The snow sled is actually from New Mexico (not much snow their either), and I had the pleasure of watching you dump everything out of the back of your car. Totally would have come to help, but my kids and dog got in the way. It was funny to watch though. ;) Good time!

So fun and so fun to have friends to go with! Happy Birthday to Parker and Kasidee! It looks like they had a super fun day and that Mark made it home just in time. You are a great mom!
